The No. 1 thing I have been looking for since I started collecting F1 miniature cars finally arrived from Italy: the prototype of the 1979 Kauhsen WK1, the debut of which shocked everyone who saw it on the cover of the January 1979 issue of AUTOSPORT magazine. It was a novel idea to eliminate the front wing and use side pontoons and a 140cm wide rear wing placed in front of the rear tires to provide downforce. It was not just an imitation of the Lotus 79, but something newer. German technology is the best in the world! It was supposed to be. Unfortunately, by the time it came to the race, it had become a boring Lotus 78 copy and failed to pass the qualifying rounds. I think it still has a lot of fans, but it was only a limited edition from CP Models in Italy. It’s hard to find them on the market, but I was very lucky to find this one on ebay.it.
I love this full-width rear wing F1 so much that I also have the Monaco version of the Ferrari 312T4. In this case Jody Scheckter won the race and the result is not comparable to Kauhsen though.
