Bonn Historical museum

I visited the history museum in Bonn. It’s about a 5-minute drive from my place, and entry is free. Here, they have a T34/85, but as you can see, it’s been significantly cut in the back. While it’s understandable to have strong feelings against certain enemies, I can’t help but feel this might be a bit too much. However, considering that other vehicles like the Unimog have also been similarly altered, maybe there’s no particular intent. They also have other vehicles, such as a US Jeep, a Messerschmitt KR200, and even two Volkswagen cars. Unfortunately, due to my limited German proficiency, I couldn’t fully grasp the details of the historical exhibits. It’s free, and the atmosphere is pleasant, with people of all ages visiting. Next time, I’ll have my daughter provide explanations for me.

I took many photos. Please check them out in my photo gallery. https://1wishyouwerehere.com/en/bonn_historical_museum/

It’s interesting that they had to cut it so significantly to fit into what doesn’t seem to be an exceptionally small building, especially considering the intact rear of the turret. Surprisingly, the T34/85 was placed on the second floor. After initially circling the first floor, assuming that’s where a tank would logically be, I thought, “It’s not here,” only to find it upon going up the stairs. In videos, there are scenes of T34s driving in parades through German streets after the war, with civilians watching from a distance.
