Auto museum in Bourton-on-the-Water

We were supposed to be on a normal family vacation in the Cotswolds of England, but we found a car museum that looked kind of interesting, so I had no choice. I entered the museum while keeping my family enjoy shopping, thinking it was just a small exhibition that is often found in tourist spots, but inside was a deep and thick swamp of British cars.

After the cute sign, there is a narrow door, and upon entering, the room, which is not very big, is crammed with old British cars, daily necessities of the time, signboards, bicycles, model airplanes, and other items. There were so many things that it was difficult to take pictures of them with a camera. These small rooms went on one after another, and it felt like there was no end in sight, door after door.

This is an old Jaguar XK140, and there is no way to get a shot without other visitors.

Sidecar designed to resemble a ship. A sidecar on a bicycle? But if you look closely, you can see an engine behind the saddle. It is a so-called “motorized bicycle”. This engine doesn’t appear having power transmission path to the rear wheel. Is it a roller-like object pressed against the outer circumference of the tire from above?

A 1936 Morgan Supersport, a three-wheeled vehicle with only one rear wheel, was powered by a JAP 1100cc liquid-cooled V-twin mounted on the front. Weighing only a little over 300 kg, it is said to have been able to reach speeds of up to 120 kph, but it must have been quite a fearsome machine.

It’s not just British cars, either. The first FIAT 500, Toppolino.

1972 Mini Clubman and Norton 850. interesting background set-up here that resembles a radio station.

As you can see, there are not only cars but also many motorcycles on display: the 1924 P&M Panther, with its exposed drum brakes on the front, combined with the complex suspension, is very mechanical.

Finally, a large number of automobile-related toys, including a collection of foot-operated cars, will be on display.

I took a lot of pictures, so if you are interested, please visit our gallery.
